Rules for safe work

  1. Do not let your actions cause danger or harm to yourself, others, the environment or property.
  2. Never prioritise urgency over safety.
  3. Comply with instructions and work permit obligations. Do not take risks. If you aren’t sure about something, ask before taking action!
  4. Always keep your tools and working environment tidy and in a safe condition.
  5. Never touch equipment or enter spaces for which you have not received orientation.
  6. Before starting work, always check the locations of exit routes, protected areas, emergency showers, fire extinguishers and rescue equipment and the nearest telephone with which to call for help in an emergency.
  7. Immediately report all dangers of accident or injury you observe to your supervisor and those who are affected by the danger.
  8. Regularly revise instructions which set out your obligations, at least once a year. Inform your supervisor if you observe the instructions to be outdated or insufficient.
  9. Take responsibility for the consequences of your actions, both to yourself and to others.
  10. Set an example to others in everything you do!
