1.3 Safety Guide

Work clothing and personal protective equipment

  • Work clothing must be used in production, storage, maintenance and laboratory tasks.
  • Protective equipment is meant for personal use.
  • Treat the personal equipment you are issued with carefully and keep it in good condition.
  • Report any faults or deficiencies you observe in your equipment to your employer without delay.

The minimum requirements for the use of protective equipment in all production areas are set out in guidelines as follows (basic equipment): helmet, appropriate clothing, work gloves and safety footwear. There are also safety rules/instructions in force at the site area which stipulate the use of other protective equipment in addition to basic equipment.

Hearing protectors
Use hearing protectors when noise levels exceed 80 dB(A). Noise areas are marked.

Hand protection
Protect your hands when there is a risk of exposure to chemicals or when you are dealing with equipment, machinery or objects which pose a mechanical danger.

Eye protection
Use mask-style safety glasses in production areas and whenever handling hazardous substances.

Protective footwear
Use safety footwear in production areas, storage areas and repair workshops.

Respirators
Use respirators accordingly based on your task.

Loading/Unloading places
Use fall protection at places where it is available. In other places use vehicle safety equipment.
