Work permits

Work subject to permits includes:

• Repair work
• Band work
• Hot work
• Confined space work
• Lifting
• Electrical work
• Excavation work
• Working with asbestos

Work permits are always in written format. They are granted by the department which commissions the work.

Before starting work, always check where the nearest emergency shower, protected area, eye rinse solution, fire extinguisher, fire alarm button and exit route are located, as well as how to report an emergency, and remember that work may only begin once you have received permission to do so.
